Leyland Tiger Collectibles
The badges we made for Leyland in the 1980’s are still being offered regularly on ebay as collectors items.

We will not manufacture anymore to ensure that all those still in existence are originals.

We have now donated the dies from which the badges were made to transport museums. The die for the Volvo Tigers head has been given to Manchester Transport Museum and those for the Leyland Tiger Head, Royal Tiger and Lynx will in due course go to the Oxford Transport Museum.

The only condition we stipulated in handing the dies over was that no more badges would be produced.

We are delighted that future generations will be able to see a part of the process in making the badges.


Fire at Manhattan - April 2006
During the night April 6th 2006 we suffered a fire at our factory with 2 departments badly affected. By exceptional support, we managed to get production up and partly running on April `19th.

We were lucky that the roof in the affected area caved in so that the fire went up-wards and did not spread sideways- had it done so we may not have been able to continue in existence!

Nothing travels as fast as bad news. The 999 call was made at 6.05am and news of the fire was on local news at 7.00pm.

We have a contract to supply a firm in Wolverhampton with parts that are incorporated into an assembly which then goes to car manufacturer in the south. At 11.00am, we had a phone call from our Wolverhampton customer telling us that the car manufacturer had phoned them with news of the fire……… news of the fire at Manhattan spread like ‘wildfire.’


7 Months on...
Whilst we were back in production within 10 days of the fire, even now after 7 months we are not back to where we were before the event.

The pictures show the devastation and thus the reason for the length of time taken.
